From character development to fitness and recreation, Andrews AFB Youth Programs offers a wide variety of challenging, informational and fun activities for its teen members ages 13 – 18 years old. 

Located in the Youth Center, teens have their own upper loft area that allows for them to socialize with friends do homework, express their creativity through digital arts programs or play games. There is a big screen TV access to video and table games. In the teen/Keystone meeting lounge there is a surrounded sound home movie theatre entertainment. There are pool tables, foosball and air hockey. Need to call your friends and left your cell phone at home? Don’t worry. The teen area also has its own phone for you to make and receive those important calls. THE NUMBER IS (301) 981-0930. The Youth Center also has an indoor and outdoor basketball court for those who want to show of their skills.

Teen Programs

Programs and specialized incentives are available that offer resources for teens for jobs, college information, scholarships and volunteering. As an affiant with the national organization Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and part of the Air Forces Services community, the Youth Center is available to present a variety of diversified programming that has many benefits to its teen members. There are programs that focus on Charater and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Health and Life Skills, the Arts, and Sports, Fitness and Recreation. To learn more about what is offered in each of these program areas, visit the Youth Center and the Teen Director. A few of the programs offered are:

Youth Employment Skills (Y.E.S.)

Need to earn extra cash over the summer. There is a wealth of job opportunities for teen’s ages 16-19 years of age and not only at the local fast food chains. 

Positions on Andrews AFB are hired through Bld 1535 at the Human Resources office or at the AAFES office. The Youth Center carries job applications for them and for local fast food restaurants. Job application for the immediate community can be found on these web sites.
